The still life image has remained popular with me for most of my career as an artist from trompe loeil paintings on furniture and walls to the boards and canvases I paint on today. After extended travels in Italy and France, the love of the local region’s produce has become a central theme in my work. Since moving to Santa Barbara 11 years ago, I’ve been inspired by the beauty of the area’s organic objects just outside my door and the produce market. I strive to portray in oils the amazing view of a vegetable, fruit or flower one may overlook. My compositions encompass bold forms and lines of the most mundane of subject matter.  Everything that I paint once had a life and continues to in my paintings.
